Did you know?
How are you, Reader?
Hit reply and let me know. Truly. I’d love to hear.
Me? I’m doing well. I feel lucky to have recovered quickly after the whole family was sick with winter illness. I’m hoping we stay in the clear now while I spend the next 6 weeks training for the Gold Coast half-marathon. Nothing worse than running while sick!
I’ve also been spending this cosy season reading a lot of books, including Corners of Melbourne, a book of quirky Melbourne facts from historian Robyn Annear…
…Speaking of new knowledge, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite curious facts about Melbourne that I discovered while browsing on Experience Oz.
Did you know???
#1–According to the Crimes Act of 1958, it is illegal to trade with a pirate if you encounter one in Melbourne.
#2 – Melbourne’s Luna Park is the oldest privately-owned theme park in the world
#3– Melburnians drink the most coffee per capita than any other city in the world!
Okay, that last fact was just for fun and I have no idea if it’s true, but it’s fun to think about, right?
I’d love to hear any fun facts about Melbourne that you know – just hit reply.
Joyce xx
