Ultra-luxury catamaran Hermes makes waves as it hits water

by Rose White

The world’s largest ultra-luxury commercial catamaran Hermes has been launched onto the water, ready for its finishing touches before it officially starts sailing in the Galapagos in April 2025.

The Pelorus Yachting-owned vessel will accommodate up to 20 guests in 12 cabins. It will be the first ultra-luxury catamaran to sail the region, complete with butler service, hammam and with each suite offering a private jacuzzi and balcony.

It is being represented by Ecuadorian DMC Via Natura. “Yesterday, the world’s biggest commercial catamaran was launched marking a landmark for the Ecuadorean naval industry,” the company said.

“We at Via Natura DMC are very excited about having Hermes Mega Catamaran become a reality. The next few months will allow us to accomplish the finishing details before our maiden voyage in April 2025.”

Itineraries will range from four- to 15-nights in duration, Via Natura CEO Esteban Velásquez told LATTE back in April.

Onboard there will be a signature menu served by a renowned Ecuadorian chef, a premium beverage package included, cooking classes and cocktail lessons, a library, an aperitif lounge, two bars, and a spa. Shore excursions will be offered by experienced naturalist guides from Zodiacs.
